Q.) Why is the 'Locations List' not tied-in with the 'Contacts' Section?

A.) Sure, you may think this may make life easier...but the reality is that it doesn't.  With the amount of Auditions, Callbacks, Bookings and Appointments you will have during your lifetime, a majority of the places you go (whether they be the location of a fly-by-night Casting Director,  a lousy coffee shop to meet your Agent at, or an On-Set Location in the middle of the desert) will not be necessary for you to clutter your Contacts database with.  Thus the beauty of a separate list of your Locations for such events as Auditions, Callbacks, Bookings and Appointments.  If you audition for a complete goon 30 miles away and know for certain you will NEVER audition for him  or her again you can always go to your Locations List and mark them as "Inactive" so you never have to see their address again in any of the Locations Drop-Down Menus.
