If you've created a Recurring Appointment there are some rules to follow and understand when it comes time that you want to Edit any single Appointment within that group of Recurring Appointments(otherwise referred to as a'Series').
Here, for example, we have a 'Series' of Weekly Recurring Appointments every Tuesday from 7PM - 10PM.
Starting on November 2nd.
Ending on November 30th.
With this example, let's learn the nitty, gritty about Editing Recurring Appointments:
"Press 'OK' to edit all recurring appointments within this series."
This means that if you Press the 'OK' button it will open the Appointment Details and any edits/changes you make to this Appointment will affect ALL Appointments in the Series.
In this example, we have opened our 2nd Appointment in the Series(Tuesday, November 9th).
The change/edit we are making to the Appointment is in the Notes area, where we add the line:
"Don't forget props".
That change to the Notes area will now appear in ALL Appointments in theSeries. (Nov. 2nd, Nov. 9th, Nov. 16th and Nov. 30th.)
This means that if you Press the 'Cancel' button it will open the Appointment Details and you now have the option to 'Link to the Original Appointment?'.
LINK TO ORIGINAL APPOINTMENT - 'YES'
By default, PerfomerTrack has the
'Link to Original Appointment?' option set to 'Yes'.
This means, if you make any changes/edits to the Appointment and click the Save button - NOchanges/edits will be Saved!
To repeat, NO changes/edits will be Saved!
Why?
The reason is because when an Appointment in the 'Series' is still 'Linked' to the 'Original Appointment' it reflects EXACTLY the sameAppointment Details as the Original Appointment...regardless if you make edits and click the Save button.
LINK TO ORIGINAL APPOINTMENT - 'NO'
When you set the
'Link to Original Appointment?' to 'No' you can make any changes/edits to the Appointment you want and those changes/edits will indeed SAVE and ONLY effect this particular Appointment.
In fact, after you click the Save button you will see this message which confirms that your changes were saved and any future changes made to the Appointment Series will NOT affect this 'Un-Linked' Appointment.
If you should ever want to re-link the Appointment back to the Series, simply open to the Appointment Details and set the
'Link to Original Appointment?' back to 'Yes'.
Then click the Save button.
•
RE-LINK TO SERIES: If you re-link the Appointment back to the Series, please be aware that any edits/changes that you have made to this Appointment will be DELETED and REPLACED with the SAME exact Appointment Details as the Original Appointment.
